Preventing Home and Leisure Accidents: Who Commits Himself To Minimizing Risks?
According to Wikipedia, every year, everyday life accidents cause about eighty thousand deaths in the European Union and several million deaths worldwide.
Domestic accidents account for 61% (twelve thousand deaths per year) of the everyday life accidents. Among the accidents of everyday life, there are also accidents occurring outside (store/shop, sidewalk, etc.)., school accidents, sports accidents, holiday and leisure accidents.
The main causes of home accidents:
- Choking and suffocation are the leading causes of death among children under 5 years.
- Burns
- Poisoning
- Drowning
- Bites
- Electric shock and electrocution
We all have a role to play to minimize risks and prevent accidents! Precautionary and preventive actions are the best way to protect our lives and those of our loved ones.
